Baseline guidance
Use Windows 10/11 64-bit, 4 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM, and at least 10 GB of free SSD space.

Before installation, check the recommended PC, validated operating limits, supported files, and performance figures with disclosed measurement conditions.
PC GUIDANCE
Use Windows 10/11 64-bit, 4 CPU cores, 8 GB RAM, and at least 10 GB of free SSD space.
For tens of thousands of mixed Office and PDF documents, use 8 CPU cores, 16 GB or more RAM, and an NVMe SSD.
A dedicated GPU is not required for local search or CPU-based OCR. Local-only mode can work offline; optional external AI, account, and update operations require HTTPS connectivity.
The 4-core/8 GB profile is operating guidance, not a measured minimum guarantee for every corpus. For large folders, first validate indexing time and storage with a representative sample.
VALIDATED LIMITS
| Item | Current limit | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Registered knowledge folders | Up to 100 | Total folders registered and tracked on the PC. |
| Files in one folder scan | Up to 10,000 | Includes discovered files in subfolders. Split a larger corpus into separate folders. |
| Default file-size limit | 64 MiB | A format or profile policy may impose a lower effective limit. |
| Folders in one search | Up to 4 | The user selects the knowledge scopes most relevant to the question. |
| Evidence used for answers or generation | Up to 12 | This limits selected evidence items, not the total number of indexed documents. |
SUPPORTED FORMATS

.ppt · .pptx · .ppsx · .potx · .pptm · .odp
.xls · .xlsx · .xlsm · .csv · .tsv · .ods

Standalone JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, and video files are not supported inputs. Image-only PDFs and images embedded in supported documents can use the local PaddleOCR runtime when installed and enabled; low-confidence results can be reviewed, corrected, and reprocessed. External OCR and automatic cloud upload are not used.
Encrypted, DRM-protected, corrupt, or executable-macro/external-object-dependent content may not be processed. Originals remain unchanged and a per-format failure or review state is retained.
MEASURED PERFORMANCE
Measured on 2026-08-15 with a Release build, Windows 11 Home 22631, Intel Core i7-1260P (12 cores/16 logical processors), 32 GB RAM, and 2 TB NVMe SSD.
| Measurement | Result | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Actual-service warm search p95 median | 8.24 ms | 3,600 successes, zero failures or timeouts |
| Retrieval quality | Top 1 179/180; Top 3 180/180 | Based on 180 approved evaluation queries |
| Local OCR | 200/200 pages; 4.05 s p95 per page | Clean CER 0; low-quality CER 3.88%; review recall 100%; zero external requests |
| Warm reuse of a prevalidated large database | 162 ms median | Reused a protected receipt for a 2.84 GB pilot database. A changed, stale, or tampered receipt triggers the full validation and recovery path. |
| Packaged runtime ready after launch | 13.8 s | Packaged-service receipt reuse for an unchanged database took 145–152 ms. |
These figures are not guarantees for every PC or corpus. Initial indexing, OCR, and startup vary with file size and format, SSD, antivirus activity, power, and thermal conditions. The first full validation of the 2.84 GB database took 105.7 seconds, and safety validation runs again after the database changes. The 8.24 ms figure is the median warm p95 measured repeatedly through the actual service path on a frozen index, not total screen response time.
COMMON QUESTIONS
No. Originals, full paths, the local index, and cards stay on the PC. Only confirmed excerpts and the question are transferred during an optional AI request.
Local keyword search, indexing, and cards remain available. Optional AI and account operations may be affected.
No. It revokes server AI authorization only. Local data removal is a separate action in the PC app.
Verify an account, install the Windows package, then select a folder and Knowledge Profile on the PC. After local indexing, review Evidence before using search, questions, and cards.
Optional. We record only page category, language, edition, channel, campaign code, version, time, and a server-hashed pseudonym. We never record document names, paths, questions, answers, inquiry text, email, or payment instruments. Declining does not limit any product feature.
